Video Tape Capture to Digital File

Standard definition analogue and digital video tapes captured using broadcast quality equipment with optional upsampling to full HD. Noise reduction and enhancement on poor / degraded recordings at no extra cost. Multiple formats and standards including:

• VHS, S-VHS and VHSC (PAL, SECAM and NTSC)
• Betacam SP (PAL only)
• Digi Beta (PAL only)
• Betamax (PAL only)
• Video 8, Hi8 and Digital 8 (PAL and NTSC)
• DVCAM (PAL only)
• Mini DV (PAL and NTSC, not HDV)

• All tapes captured to Apple Pro Res. Other codecs are available on request, but please keep in mind that this will drastically increase the amount of data.

• Transfers are sent via an email link through the service MyAirBridge (no additional charge), but if physical storage is preferred this can be ordered through our ‘Add-Ons’ section of the shop.

• Use the options below to select your format, output resolution (SD or HD) and your preferred turnaround time. Then select number of hours at the bottom and add to basket. For captures of multiple formats, please add each tape format as a separate item to your basket. The number of hours per tape format is currently capped at 20 hours. If you have more than 20 hours, please add the additional hours as a new item to your basket.

    Your tape format, resolution of capture and number of hours of footage will affect the final cost. Please select your format, resolution required and number of hours to view the final total at the bottom of the page. Once you're happy you've entered the details correctly, add to basket and checkout.

     

    What resolution would you like your tape(s) captured to?

    Add a rush turn-around (max five tapes)

    Our standard turnaround time is 10-15 working days. We can rush transfer your tapes within 3 working days - but can only guarantee a rush on maximum five tapes at any one time. If you're sending more than five tapes please do not select this option.

    Number of hours of footage you'd like capturing

    Please refer to your cassette shell or original packaging for the number of minutes on your tape. For example an E180 VHS cassette can contain 180 minutes of footage i.e. 3 hours.

    Note the minimum order quantity is 1 hour. Please do not ask for discounts for recordings which you deem less than an hour.

    If once we've captured your footage, the actual number of hours is more than you've declared below we will need you to pay for the additional hours before delivery of your tape captures.
